Yes, I KNOW.

And --- NEITHER AGENCY (nor the Federal Reserve) was allowed to have any oversight or regulatory authority over the 'private-party' CDS' issued by AIG and many others.

(You know... the Credit Default Swaps that ballooned up to a more then $70 Trillion dollar market and practically crashed the entire world's financial systems.)

That is because ALL FEDERAL REGULATION was *banned*.

All.

(So, neither CFTC, nor SEC, nor Fed had any assigned regulatory responsibility.)
