Downtown I have seen skid row homeless types that have hit rock bottom and I know the old ones are probably vets. I feel more sorry for their sad state than your run of the mill mooching panhandler.

I don't reward panhandlers. The only exception to that is musical panhandlers performing free for all in the hopes of having tips dropped in their case.

A friend who went to Eastman had a brass quartet that made nice money that way.
