We all have at least one thing in common, death. What kind of death we will have is to some extent a choice incumbent upon the kind of life we have led. To live well in sum total is then to die well.

To be murdered decades earlier than you would have otherwise have died is not exactly the best possible death. Its one thing if you get killed saving someone else, or otherwise preventing great harm, but I don't consider telling a lie to a murderer all that great of harm.

Otherwise, how does lying prevent someone from murdering you?

Its not particularly likely to happen but there are all sorts of different very unlikely situations. How about being asked if you know who the informant is, when your the informant...
