To be fair, this most recent tax incident does appear to be innocent, unlike those that have been previously reported.

The kinds of mistakes she made are the kinds that happen in the heat of tax season all the time. The other guys were cheating or trying to scam the system.

This woman clearly amended her returns out of an abundance of caution.


That's what I meant. The issues seem minor, having to do with complexity of the rules and compliance with complex rules. In a simpler flat tax code with lower rates and no deduction, she would have no problem.
