Thanks Scott,

For that clipping. It shows his priorities are in the right place..

I have cooled down a lot and am more understanding this morning. :) Both brought a lot to the Cougar nation and I am so greatful for it and wish Tony all the success in the world.. For example, here is the type of players they recruited.. Four of the five players on this year's all Pac-10 academic team were Cougs..

April Fools? Porter in Pullman?
By Devin Rokyta on Wed, Apr 1, 2009

Take it for what it is, but rumors are circulating that former NBA player and coach Terry Porter was spotted at WSU today with Dick Bennett.

I have talked to a couple of sources at the university and nobody has been able to confirm the rumor.

Interestingly, Porter has ties to the Bennetts. He played as college ball at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point under, you guessed it, Dick Bennett.

I also remember a conversation early this season with Tony Bennett about Porter. Bennett had nothing but praise for Porter and thought he got a raw deal by being fired by the Suns despite having a winning record.

Porter tried to bring a defensive presence to the high-flying Suns, but that apparently didn’t sit well with star players like Shaq and Amire Stoudamire. Needless to say, ownership sided with its stars and Porter was sent packing midway through the season with a 23-18 record.
