ElM, you are exaggerating the collapse of the USA. <Imagine if the Moslems or Russians get the upper hand now that the US empire collapsed > It doesn't seem that Libya, Saudi Arabia, Indonesia or any combination of them is going to do much other than what they have done in the past. Meanwhile, they have got a LOT of young blokes with exaggerated expectations thanks for the high price of oil and their ideology. Nor does Russia seem likely to other than try to keep things together at home. Foreign adventures seem out of the question. Even with a few $trillion down the gurgler, that leaves the USA with more than enough to be going on with. Mqurice

How would that make things better ElM and precisely what would they do and just who do you mean by "Latin"? <We have had the Anglo on top. We need a new bout of Latin civilization.> The people who best manifest Virtuous Victorian Values are the ones who become wealthiest [which I hope that's what you mean by "on top" though I suspect you mean in the medieval "conqueror" sense]. At any time they like, "Latins" can do the right things which will put them on top. So far, there's not much sign of it. There is more to success than getting poor people to cut cane and make ethanol for cars. China can make a lot of factories and copy things from smart people and work for low pay, but that's not the way to get on top. I'll be happy to give my capital to Latins when they look as though they will treat it better than where I have it now. I'll buy things now from Latins if they produce something I want to buy. Come to think of it, I do = grapes and a few things, accommodation and supplies in the south of France. Mqurice
