Beck Takes Blumenthal Back to School

Jonathan Adler
The Corner

Say what you want about Glenn Beck, but he gave Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal a well-deserved spanking the other night.

As state AG, Blumenthal is the chief legal officer of the state, and is charged with enforcing and protecting state law. Yet, as Blumenthal admitted under duress, there was nothing remotely illegal about the AIG bonuses — and in any event AIG's handling of bailout money is a federal concern. Many state AGs are over-zealous, but Blumenthal is an outright embarrassment.
