To Tito and All:Read this post from July 29/96

"This from Briefing.com:

Applied Materials (AMAT) - 25 1/8:The company was a prime
victim during the tech meltdown, as
AMAT's stock price was nearly cut in half. Earnings have come
under pressure from falling chip prices
and reduced capital spending. Soft demand over the next
couple of quarters should keep the stock from
staging a sustained recovery. Nevertheless, the sharp drop in
the stock leaves AMAT shares trading at
only 7.1x estimated FY97 earnings and 1.1x est sales -
attractive levels for value-oriented investors.
Resistance is at 32, with support at 21 3/4."

Keep in mind that 25 was pre split. This mixed warning from the folks at Breifing.com precicely marked absolute best buying opportunity for amat and the subsequent +400% run up to 108. I also noticed that most people posting in mid 96 were cautious and pessimistic. We're almost there. Perhaps a cautionary downgrade from Breifing will give a final buy confirmation <g>.
