Z, I fully agree with what you say, but I think we're just arguing over the means by which his predictions would be fulfilled.

Marxism has evolved over the past century, but a lot of the core principles remain. I'm sure if you mentioned some of these principles (without identifying them as Marxist) to my wife's journalism professors at UCLA, for instance, they will agree wholeheartedly with every single one of them.

Going back to how Marxism applies in an Obamanation, I'll agree that it's way too early to declare this nation as a Marxist state or even a Euro-socialist state. I'm not even sure that the populist movement headed by Obama will eventually get us there, but it has indeed started us down the road. Some might argue that we've been on this road for quite a while now, even during the oh-so-conservative years of George W. Bush.
