The business world is a mine field and there is no clear path to success.

No doubt that is true. However, going far outside of your core competencies has historically had a high failure rate for most companies. Unfortunately, Q is no different. They have just tended to do it far more often than most other companies. They either need to stop doing it or start getting it right. They have done neither for a decade. They seem to throw money at virtually anything that comes along.

And last time I checked, Mirasol is not a wireless technology; but you seem pretty big on it.

I definitely wouldnt say that I am "big" on it. I would like to know a lot more about the technology and products. It has the possibility to drive revenues but it also has the possibility to be a very large failure. Q simply hasnt given enough information to know yet. In particular, I would like to know more about picture quality and the potential road blocks in manufacturing.

My guess though is that Q chose the wrong display technology. I am much more confident that OLED's will be a large portion of handset shipments than iMoD displays. There is a large niche market though for sunlight readable displays so Mirasol could still be a moderage success....but again, I want to know more.

3) Invested in R&D. (Including ventures.)

I would just like to note that you have never heard me complain about QCT R&D. Whether it be Snapdragon or 802.1n, I have no problem with continued expansion here. It is outside of QCT that failure has become routine.
