Exactly right! "People will argue that it isn't a big enough basket of Goods." (Well, it doesn't have metals or energy costs... but it is a pretty fair approximation of local retail purchasing power all the same --- and it is mostly exempt from government statistical trickery.) "Screw the official CPI which is so manipulated with goods replacements and quantity manipulations. It's utter BS." Exactly right again --- the government has it's very heavy thumb on the scales.
