I don't buy that. My doctor gets just the same reimbursement for me now as she did before I was on Medicare. Only now she has to wait until Medicare pays first, then my Blue Cross makes up the difference.

A small proportion of patients have Medicare supplements. IN most instances the physician gets what Medicare allows ONLY, which is a pittance.

BTW with BCBS as a supplement it is still one step; Medicare automatically "crosses over" the claim to BCBS after they adjudicate it, so the physician doesn't have to file a claim for each as with the typical "primary/secondary" situation.
