ALPNET targets $100 mln revs/yr by 2000
SALT LAKE CITY, Oct 30 (Reuters) - ALPNET Inc, the translation and localization services company, has targeted a 35 percent average annual growth rate in order to achieve sales of around $100 million by the year 2000.

The profitability target by the year 2000 is to earn a 10 percent return on sales, or around $10 million, the company said in a statement.

''Our goal for the year 2000 is to capture 70 percent to 80 percent of our total sales from approximately 30 to 40 large global clients without sacrificing our base-line revenues,'' Jaap van der Meer, ALPNET's president said in the statement.

ALPNET sees its core activity of translation and localization being extended into turnkey multilingual publishing services, including document and web site management, the company said.

The translation and localization services industry is currently estimated to have an annual growth rate of 15-30 percent, ALPNET said.
