Well as long as there are lots of people out there with guns shooting some of those doctors then its OK

Well, there are also 13,500 gun murders a year , and probably a like amount of gun suicides as well as justifiable homicides . Gun deaths probably peaked at about 37,500 to 40,000 a year in the early 1990's, now the are about 28,000 to 30,000 a year in the USA , in part due to better emergency and medical interventions. You just use the number of physicians to come up with your figure and do not include other medical personnel who intervene with patients. However, I agree that doctors and hospitals still kill significantly more than guns; but , on the other hand, I never knew a gun to deliver a baby or put in a pacemaker. Also i can avoid going to a doctor and possibly die but guns are intrusive and deadly and I have no say in how they are used or abused. Doctors are in a high risk business and human beings slip up. Human beings who are not well trained and have easy access to automatic weapons even when their sanity is questionable seems crazy.
