I don't know where the number really is and neither does anyone else - in fact I think the sides spend more time doing studies of studies. The true number is obviously not zero - but not 2.5 million a year either.

Even this study comes to a conclusion against your main point.....Firearm self-defense is rare compared with gun crimes.

That is not against my point - in fact it supports my point - more people should carry for their own protection. The trouble with trying to use that for you argument is that you propose to limit firearms access or institute bans but completely reject the truth that criminals will continue to acquire arms and use them in crime - because being a criminal is their job.
