Why, except as a matter of your deduction?

The majority of those arms are rifles and are not carried. Sure they can be used when the criminal comes to your door - but the number of concealed carry individuals is low and of course the number actually carrying at any one time is lower. Furthermore several laws discourage carry - for example I can't store a gun in my car and park at my companies parking lot - so the majority of travel to and from work and points in between I am forced to be unarmed.

That's a myth - do you even have the number of family victims killed by relatives - excluding suicide?
