I kind of like the scenario where AMD is competent, but they made a fatal error in strategy by pushing for higher cost CPUs at a time when Intel was back to firing on all cylinders.

That's a plausible theory and explains 2006 to the present very well but it arrives too late. I think our friends here are trying to explain the conditions prior to the filing of the suit. That requires the active cooperation, tacit approval or capitulation of all the OEMs. Then it requires the lack of cooperation with the investigative bodies. Does that make sense?
