That is where we are getting all these fossil fuels to burn, and put back into the atmosphere. You've got denial written ALL OVER your cyber-face.. Once again, we're at a historical LOW in CO2 levels in the atmosphere on the geological scale. Those levels plummeted due to natural forces of some kind and it's entirely possible that we're now seeing the pendulum swing back to the historical norm of 1500 ppm and possibly back to 3000ppm. Thus, it really begs the question as to WHAT CAUSED CO2 levels to plummet in the first place because mankind WAS NOT A FACTOR? Then you have to asked what mankind could possibly do, outside of geo-engineering, to prevent a return to such levels? We have built our civilization based on sea levels at this level. If we go back to 1000 ppm or more of GHGs in the atmosphere, and melt the ice that has been built up over the past 30-35m years, then sea levels will increase, and wipe out large amounts of land that has been developed. Ah.. so the reality shines through. YOU ARE IN FAVOR OF GEO-ENGINEERING!! It's not about "saving the planet" but saving your own hide in the face of geological forces that are FAR MORE POWERFUL THAN MANKIND!! Yet, your ilk doesn't want to utilize the most powerful biological forces available for CO2 reduction, phytoplankton, because you're afraid of "geo-engineering" the oceans. As for me, I'll choose to pay more attention to the forces that likely have a greater impact upon global climate than what mankind has done in the past 100 years. I personally believe that there's nothing we can do over the course of geological time to prevent the planet from taking the course it's going to take. In fact, by the time we get to 500 ppm, I'm sure our society will become so advanced that we'll adapt and possibly even find ourselves living in the oceans, if not on other planets. Of course, the planet might just get lucky and see us wipe ourselves out first.. ;0) The bottom line, again, is that you're so arrogant to believe that you can halt climate change when it's been a historical norm for millions of years. Do you think you're god? Hawk
