This has happened to both companies. Like both companies have paper-launched, and now with Barcelona, both have shipped insufficiently qualified products. There is a major difference. While Intel has on occasion had a hiccup or two, the have a long established record of mostly success. With few exceptions they ship high volume on schedule and the customers are familiar with their architecture and platforms. In the time frame in question, the same could not be said of AMD.
