Until there is a movement, there can be no change and the movement brings with it an element of violence--action, then reaction. The US is not perfect but better than most. And when we make change, its real and its lasting. Obama is President! When will we have an openly gay president? It will happen you know. I would say easily within the next 30 years, certainly a candidate. The kids dont care what one's sexual prefernce is and guys like me change their mind and rid themselves of ancient and deeply rooted prejudices while guys like primI-T-ode fume and fuss. But in 30 years, most probably neither inode or I will be here, so victory is assured. PS inode and i grew up in a day when folks were in the closet and when they came out they were beaten and no one seemed to notice or care including me for the most part. I had a good friend who said he hoped all the gays died of aids. Several years later he died of lung cancer. And the joke is that except for this insane view, he was a great guy. Looking back i dont get it.
