Its too early to tell how it will all work out but inode said the troops hate him and thats obviously not true. Your son may be a skeptic now and he is right to be so as troops are routinely suckered by commanders and pols. Hopefully we will exit iraq and the situation will remain relatively stable and/or get better not worse. Afganistan/Pakistan concerns me more because its both more difficult and more essential to our national interest. Plus no combat troops from most of nato, save canada, netherlands and brits. I think this is where obama will be judged as commander in chief.
