Yes, as I remember CO2 is a problem in converting coal to oil. And global warming is the problem many think it is.

The Chinese and Indians have a dilema on their hands i.e. their industrial revolution is just beginning as ours is leveling out. So they feel they have to ignore it and hope the scientists are wrong.

My son in law studies global warming for a living and says there is little doubt about its severity or the fact man is causing it.

He is pretty high up the pecking order of atmospheric scientists studying atmospheric chemistry and was just invited to Vienna to present his psper on a discovery he made recently on how formaldahyd is formed in the atmosphere. So he knows his stuff.

The naysayers are of course the same people who for 100 years said smoking was not addictive and did not cause lung cancer.

And ironically, I have seen equatons on the global warming problem as well and they do not show a solution either.

So, IMO, what we have done in our self indulgent manner, is turn two catastrophies waiting to happen, over to our children saying; "not my problem".

Actually, we are telling the kids, be happy, don't worry, there is no problem.
