Elmer,

Re: "Yup, must be coercion by Intel all right ... If only we could get those OEMs to talk"

But, we've got Dan3 talking -->

"I think that's Intel FUD ... The only problem with Opteron's launch was Intel's sabotage."

"If B step fixed the problems why did you say both problems were fixed with the D-Step? "

D step was solid gold.

"So there were problems up through the C step"

Not really. B step lived up to expectations. C and D exceeded them.

"and who knows how many dash steppings there were along the way,"

Not many. IIRC, C step only had one. B had two. And these were still in 2003. So you are trying to claim it takes an OEM almost two years to validate. Which, as you know, is a lie.

"You were expecting an OEM to see stepping after stepping with problems slowing validation,"

Yawn. Like Intel never releases multiple steps. Really, Elmer, you have to get your spin under control. You know better than to pretend that AMD is the only one to do this stuff.

Again, by the time of the law suit, AMD was already on 90nm and E step.
