Instead of picking individual stocks, you might consider the ETF groups... SSO or SPY for the SP's... XLF for the banking and financial groups, or XRT for the retail sector of the SP's, and so on... just a suggestion, this way if one stock is good and one is bad, you don't have to concern yourself with trying to pick the right horse, just buy the entire field and own a piece of all of them... this is just a suggestion...
