>You however seem very uncomfortable with the resentments gays express about straights, calling them married will probably help you with the guilt trip you've bought in to.

I feel no guilt. I feel irritation because some people are being denied a right for arbitrary reasons. But I also feel good that things are changing.

>T'wont do anything else.

It will make them happier. That's enough for me.

>It is a simple fact that you can't give gays the ability to be what heterosexual family values culture is.

I can't give them the ability to get aroused when they're around the opposite sex, and neither can you, nor can the government. But it can give them a marriage license, and it can give them many of its benefits. And you won't be able to stop it for long.

>But you can attempt to dismantle the culture of the latter by nullifying its constructs and institutions. You seem bent on refusing to consider that fact.

Maybe your church's "institution of marriage" is built for only straight people. But the government's doesn't have to be.
