"Currently, pipelines charge $17.95 per barrel to ship oil from Alberta to the U.S. Gulf Coast."

Is $17.95 a correct number?

Shipping by rail makes a lot of sense especially to the west coast. This would allow additional Pacific basin buyers to bid for the crude also.

Now there's a proposal that might work for shipping oil to the West Coast of BC and thence to points beyond.

Nice find.
