Ted, this is one of those stories that is being exaggerated for the "ZOMG RACISM!" effect.

Where's the context? I don't know what Ramey Ko was asking for when he was citing problems with voting and ID. Did Ko actually suggest that everyone ought to learn Chinese, as Betty Brown thought he said? Or is Ko arguing against ID requirements for voting because some poll workers are too stupid to figure out Asian names?

I'm not excusing Betty Brown's comments, but I have a feeling we're not getting the whole story. Tenchu's third rule of partisan politics: Control the context.
