I read that entire piece when it came out.

Unfortunately, I think that Broder really does NOT get it. He does seem critical about the idea of gambling with America's future -- but he's too much of a journalist to really come out and question the appropriateness of the gamble (journalist==>liberal). And I can't imagine him pointing out the tendency toward socialism that is so much a part of what's happening here.

I like Broder a lot and have seen him be honest in his criticism. But when the rubber meets the road he's going to lean to the left and as long as the socialism doesn't totally consume the country I'd expect him to be somewhat supportive.

The truth is that outside of Krauthammer there are few columnists today who really get what's going on, IMO at least.

This is the first liberal main stream media type to recognize the danger that Obama presents to the well being of our citizens and the entire financial system. What is most significant is that this reporter is the dean of the liberal Washington Post press corp

"Broder has been called "relentlessly centrist" by The New Yorker's political commentator Hendrik Hertzberg.[6]"
