feel irritation because some people are being denied a right for arbitrary reasons. 15 years ago no liberal gave a damn about "gay marriage" - its only been recently liberals have decided to make this a moral cause. It will make them happier. It probably won't. Few of them even want to get married. Most who do may have already done so in either MA or CA. At any rate, thats not really relevant. Would be polygamists, incestuous couples, etc might be make the claim marriage would make them happier. So what? Maybe your church's "institution of marriage" is built for only straight people. But the government's doesn't have to be. He's smart enough to know churches will be pressured and coerced to change their beleifs on sexual morality to conform with liberalism or be socially isolated and stigmatized. He just approves of that.
