"Ted, I'm waiting for Obama to apologize to Kim Jong-Il because Bush called him a "pygmy."

I remember several people on this thread, most notably Alghieri, criticizing Bush for doing just that."

It WAS kind of Jr High-ish, don't you think? Did it elevate the stature of the leader of the free world, or reduce him to Kim's level? When is name calling an adult thing to do?

When did it become wrong to apologize for committing a wrong?

I know you all see apologizing as a sign of weakness but in reality, its a sign of strength.....even among nations.

I remember several people on this thread, most notably Alghieri, criticizing Bush for doing just that. Cause you know, that's just driving North Korea deeper into isolation and, uh, that's bad for world peace, and, uh, Bush is an idiot and should be impeached, and, uh ...

As usual you misrepresent my motives. I criticized him, as I did rummy for his comments about europe, because a world leader shouldn't waste his political capital and lose the perceived high ground in such a cheap and gratuitous way. Interestingly in a later post you admit that the "previous administration created a lot of tension in the world" ...so in a rare moment of public honesty you recognize the problems bush created in the world, but the partisan instincts inevitably take over and you come back with statements like the one above.
