Oh, I dont know... at the right price, I think it would work. The right price would be pretty high.

Re confiscation, perhaps. Also, perhaps not.

It would certainly prevent this Fed insanity of eating their own dog food... or bailing out all the guys they know with funny money.

True, the currency would not be very flexible... so perhaps some kind of modified gold standard such as Mundel is proposing... for a international monetary unit pegged to a currency basket made up of 50% gold... You know, Mundel, the father of the Euro?
