According to unofficial combined canvass results released by the state board of elections, Murphy has 77,590 votes to 77,582 votes for Republican Jim Tedisco. Four counties don’t appear to have submitted any paper ballot counts to the state yet — Essex, Saratoga, Warren and Washington. Among the four, Saratoga County is the most important to watch since it’s the district population hub and since Tedisco won 54 percent there in the March 31 contest. politico.com
