ElM, a bookshelf doesn't show what's in your head. Even if you read the books, it doesn't mean much.

And being on the ground somewhere doesn't confirm understanding of what's going on there and how things work. We constantly have politicians going on overseas tours to "Find out what's happening and to get good ideas". They return as clueless as when they left, but all too often full of some stupid idea such as how NZ should build a Yamanote Line to solve traffic problems, or tunnels around Auckland such as they have dug in Brussels. Monkey see, monkey do.

Sheep in a paddock with rows of books along the fence-line have little insight into their situation, no understanding of elsewhere and are still just sheep.
