Here is an article in the Times. It appears that the UK has lost control of the student visa process.

I saw another article saying that the UK issued 300,000 student visas each year.

Add in asylum seekers, others with false documents, and the ease of getting into the UK by sea on a fishing or pleasure boat.

Maybe the UK has something close to real to worry about.
