That is interesting. Do you feel there is also only 15-20% liberal contributions leaving about 1 standard deviation in the smack-dab middle (~60-70%)? Maybe that's right...

IMO some people hold views that are so embedded in their psyche that if there is disagreement with their world view, then they feel personally under attack.

This is not something I understand - If my opinions couldn't withstand logical analysis, I wouldn't hold them. If they required belief in unprovable or personally relative concepts, I wouldn't hold them to be universal. If I can't meet these criteria, then I should consider changing my opinions or else be at risk for being an ideologue.

I suppose I can get frustrated when others filter their data through a particular lens and won't consider that fact in the discussion. Heck, I'll always see the world from the viewpoint of a progressive male raised in America. If someone sees a distortion in my viewpoint because of that, I'm okay with that being pointed out. But for self-aware people, they usually aren't surprised by such an observation and certainly shouldn't be angered by it.
