Thanks, DB, that's a good way to describe it, weeding out the "hell bent" who see Internet chat boards as a forum to bash other individuals. Other times, it's more of a judgment call when criticism drifts into blanket demonization. I remember banning someone early on because they said no matter what the Democrats ever said or did, they were soft on security. When someone has closed their eyes to considering evidence from another POV, they will not make useful contributions to an open discussion like this forum. In the last year or so, I haven't had to ban more than a handful of people, if memory serves. Most people around SI know what this thread is about and choose to participate or not. Getting banned is mostly about conduct and not content.
