If you think that the rich have complex tax's, you should look into the many returns for farmers, who trade livestock and farm equipment. The same forms for a rich capitalist, plus those specific to land owners, plus those specific to farmers.

The big problem with farms is the accounting methods are all screwed up. They get special treatment on some pretty fundamental items -- like using cash basis accounting even though they have livestock inventories. There is a lot of pretty crazy stuff in there for farmers.

They could use a 1040A only I imagine....the complexities are there for their benefit...
