TARP was created before Obama took over. The banks wanted to hidetheir issues. According to respected analysts, banks are valuing most of their assets at 98c to a dollar. That is simply fraud. Having said that, I agree that Obama seems to want to use this, to bring down capitalism's high perch in our minds.

Good point about many banks being forced to take TARP money, the program was really for the benefit of GS, C, JPM and BAC, specially GS. But they had make the others take the money to make it look like they were helping everyone.
