"While the FZ1 is one of the fastest street bikes on earth, and handles better than anything else I've ridden at high speed, it is very difficult to ride it at under 100mph."

What a ridiculous statement! You're no biker. By the way, you're also way out of date on your judgments as to what is currently a fast bike. Fast bikes are pushing 200 mph out of the showroom these days.

"The cruiser is perfect for the job it is designed to do."

What IS that job, that can't be done better by a VFR (or a dozen other purpose-designed bikes), the best all-round bike EVER?

...everything from BSAs to Kawasakis to Triumphs.

Tiger 110 - or even Bonneville? You are old enough for those. At 42 bhp - and rather impressive 47bhp - those classic 650cc jobs were the "crotch rockets" to own back then.

Anybody wanting something more exiting than a cruiser should get himself a Ducati.
