If hostages are involved the equation gets much more complex. My sense is that Obama is not only smart but he is also street smart. He knows how to play the game. He has a feel for this stuff. My sense is that he will be able to apply the right amount of force in this multi dimensional international game of chess. Obama is the smartest person in the room - in any room he enters.
