President Obama granted two separate requests from the Defense Department to go forward with a military operation to rescue Captain Richard Phillips, an administration official tells CNN.

Well, why wouldn't he? This is not rocket science, but why did he take six days to give the go ahead?

Why is obama treating this pirate incident as a criminal matter, as if this is the only time pirates ever attacked us? These pirates are nothing other than terrorists, and moslum extremists as well, why pretend they're something else? The United States has a long history of fighting pirates, it goes back to the late 1700's... The very well known and much beloved U.S. Marine Hymn's first line is:

"From the halls of Montezuma to the shores of Tripoli..."

Tripoli... yes, Tripoli... today's Libya... that's where the U.S. Marines fought their very first foreign battle, and it was against pirates, that's right, pirates... today's pirates are terrorists, nothing else but terrorists... the U.S. Marines are sometimes referred to as Leathernecks because of the leather band they would wear back then under their uniforms to protect them from knife attacks by pirates who loved to behead people, still a standard fare among modern day pirates (or terrorists), moslum extremists... for obama to treat this so called "pirate issue" as some isolated event about some pegleg guy with a bird on his shoulder is missing the point and reveals a huge void in his understanding of America's long history with these kinds of sub humans...
