>> Obama Did Not Order the Kill That Freed Capt. Phillips

I can't imagine why a decision like this would be taken at the Presidential level anyway.

Seems to me common sense would prevail that if they got a chance to take a shot they'd do it.

Jlallen, I think it's good enough that Obama didn't order the Navy to stand down or otherwise prevent them from even considering using snipers.

If that puts Obama in a position where he now has to deal with the Somali pirates directly, that's fine by me. Either way, this whole piracy nonsense really needs to be dealt with.

Sweet!

cnn.com

(CNN) -- In the end, it was a single moment that brought the hostage crisis to its dramatic finish.

Three gunshots. All three fatal. Fired in the dark by three specially trained U.S. Navy SEALs as the pirates' boat rocked in the water off Somalia.

"Phenomenal shots -- 75 feet away," said Navy Vice Adm. Bill Gortney, who oversees the region.

A senior defense official told CNN that each was a shot to the head.

Didn't read them their Miranda rights, due process, nothing. How sad....

Not!

Everything i've read and seen on tv says Obama authorized the use of force, not that he ordered the actual assault.

What does this article demonstrate except that you have absolutely nothing and are flailing desperately?
