"Murrieta"

I lived just east of there. It's a CA exurb, where folks that worked in San Diego or LA fled to buy a reasonably priced new house and escape gangs for their kids in exchange for marathon commutes to get to work, some involving 4 hours of driving a day. What with rising unemployment AND declining house values, these people are doubly screwed. Almost all of them are families that worked two jobs. My ex-sister in law lives in Corona, another such community.

This is not OK...

In Murrieta, a fading American dream

What bothers me is not the housing prices......they will come back. What bothers me is that people are forced to go to food pantries.......that apparently food stamps are not enough to feed a family. We impoverish are citizens all so we can play policeman to the world.

And let me tell you......the food pantries are starting to close down. Donations are declining and they don't have enough to give the throngs who need the food.
