In my opinion, all parties are barking up the wrong tree in the 'sexting' thing.

I don't think it should be legal and I don't think it should be illegal. I just don't think children should be empowered to do it.

Parents who blindly turn over a powerful cell phone to their child should expect nothing less than what is going on here.

They need to first teach their children the difference between right and wrong.

Secondly, I think they should think twice before bestowing such power in the hands of juveniles.

No doubt there are cell phones available that allow one to call emergency numbers and possibly a limited range of personal numbers. Were I a parent of a child in this day and age, that is the kind of phone that I would provide my child.

Thirdly, and I don't know how to go about this, there should be a certain amount of shunning. Children should be taught to turn up their nose at harmful behaviors they see in others.

A field trip to the local juvenile detention center for all children might be in order. There they could be taught that this is where losers end up, and once that happens it's hard to get the stench off.

Sexting refers to the exchange of explicit photos and videos via mobile phone.

This is part of the mess that our sex laws have got us into. I don't know the answer, but a look at how the Euros handle it is probably in order.
