My brother had serial killers attempt to dump a body off in front of his house in rural Washington. The killers were equipped with night vision and saw him looking at them through the open bedroom window - it was a calm summer evening and he could hear them talking outside after they pulled up at 2 am. They were later apprehended based partially upon his description of the vehicle. If they'd cut the phone lines (he has no cell reception), they'd still be facing a deterrent. These guys were squatting in a house less than 2 miles away where they'd killed their victims.

How could that be with so many eager, trained, well-armed residents there? Isn't there a deterrent effect? To be fair, this is a area of mostly summer homes (Bill Gates summer home is here) so lots of homes are empty. Still though the comment by Sheldon is very strange. He also said that people here know how to use guns and are "Not whimps like those in Seattle". He also said that there "is no bag limit" on those committing a crime. Remember this is a democrat.
