Krugman is the issue of my post. You are discussing a separate issue, okay by me, but the issue of discussion was Krugman calling republicans crazy.

The amount we have to spend is large. A trillion here or a trillion there does not make that much difference if we can spend the money as if we were investing in the future and that there is a return on that investment. That means if we have a healthier economy our debt levels can go down. If we have a lousy economy, we will have to borrow money just to stay alive.

If, if, if, and if! There have been real economic powers who have had their currencies ruined by reckless printing of money in the past. We don't understand that because it hasn't happened in a meaningful way in our recent memory. That doesn't mean it won't happen in the future - it will. If Krugman gets his way, I believe you will need a pickup truck to take enough money to the store to buy a loaf of bread. Lots of serious economist think this - that doesn't make them crazy and I think it is insulting of Krugman to say so. It means they have a difference of opinion. Conservatives have been blamed by democrats in the past for calling liberals names - do you think it is now alright to label republicans "crazy" just because they have a difference of opinion? .......I thought we were trying to move away from that?
