I am an Internist - a few years ago I got tired of dealing with HMO's and became a Hospitalist. Incidentally, I am licensed in Arkansas, worked there for about 2 1/2 years, until a few months ago. The locals say that if you wear out a pair of shoes in Arkansas, you never leave - and it's true, I miss it. Wonderful state, the best kept secret in the nation... :)

I did some work for a medical clinic that opened several years ago. They did everything on the cheap. They developed a profitable practice accepting medicare patients. The doctor's FIL recently bought them a new old building to expand the practice. Her brother (an engineer) is the practice manager.

We mutually fired each other. They wanted to know what the difference was between a Cisco switch and a Dell switch and didn't want to hear the answer. They wanted us to jump when they needed help but not pay a retainer or do any preventative maintenance on their information systems.

Anecdotes are not arguments, they merely provide data to help build a picture of each situation.
