I can't disagree with your post.... I can't think of a time in my life were personal liberty has been attacked by the government with more effort and it is coming from all sides. Historically speaking though the left have always been the ones to carry out the complete removal of personal freedoms. Russian communists/socialists, Chicoms, Mussolini fascism, the NAZIs (which at its heart was a socialist movement). Because of this war we've had a sharp increase in the militerizing of our local police departments. That's true, when Nixon started 'the war on drugs' he made large sums of money available to expand and arm police depts. All of a sudden, police depts across the country that never complained of a problem with drugs had one...and so things escalated.....
