My take is not much different. Only that they won´t easily return to 44 (rather meet next time at $5) see history: Message 25566759 it is like buying a long term call and a long term put - you need a lot of abnormal movement to be in profit on the pair. I have yet to do the math what is cheaper. In both cases it makes sense if the implied volatility of options is low for a while. The FAZ+FAS have an amazing burn. Down 80% since late november, combined. Down more than 40% since January.
