I've been following CREE for a long time and made a lot of $ when they were rocking in the late 90s. Many of the early players - who were pretty sharp technically - made their dough and left. Their current CEO, another really sharp guy technically who has been there a long time, has rarely had any stake in the company (he's made kazillions on stock options), although he bought a few shares at the fall lows.

Setting all that aside, their LED technology is good, but I don't think they'll be able to hold any lead that they may currently have. Competition is pretty stiff out there. Moreover, whereas their initial plan was to exploit four markets for SiC, LEDs are the only one that ever panned out, unless I've missed something. In any event, I don't think they deserve the current premium they have.

Anyway, it's all irrelevant, cuz I can't get a borrow and there isn't a lot of liquidity in the puts :(
